DESERVE FINAL EVENT AGENDA AVAILABLE

On December 16th, 2015, the DESERVE Consortium will present the project’s final event at the DAIMLER premises in Ulm, Germany.

The DESERVE project aims to design and implement an integrated platform for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) able to become an European standard reference tool including meta-models and methods for safety.

DESERVE Final event announcement!

DESERVE project has the pleasure to invite you to join the final event, where the achievements of the past years will be shared. This will take place at Daimler Premises in Ulm, Germany on 16th of December 2015.

Nowadays ADAS play a relevant role in the improvement of the road safety conditions. The DESERVE project aims to design and implement an integrated platform for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) able to become an European standard reference tool including meta-models and methods for safety. DESERVE aims to meet this goal by applying an holistic approach, which includes the easy integration of different software and hardware solutions as well as the validation of each function as a module and as a part of the entire system in order to guarantee the safety of the introduction of any new element.

During the day, an overview of the activities carried out within the project will be presented and a roundtable specifically focused on the topics of the project will be organized to put into evidence the highlights of the project and its achievements as well. Furthermore several demos are planned to show the project results. The cars, equipped with the ADAS implemented with the platform developed within the project will be exposed and guided tours will be organized to better explain the improvements brought about by the project.

DESERVE: IMS rapid prototyping demonstrator for hardware-software-connection
M.Sc. Florian Giesemann, Jun.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Guillermo Payá Vayá, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Holger Blume

The Institute of Microelectronic Systems (IMS) of the Leibniz Universität Hannover is working in the field of algorithms and hardware architectures for digital signal processing for applications with highest demands.

The development of complex algorithms is often performed in an iterative process, where the algorithm is run and the behavior is observed in order to evaluate the performance and quality. These observations are used to tweak algorithmic parameters and the process is repeated until the algorithm meets its specification.

Pure software implementations of complex algorithms usually run slow, delaying the design process. Therefore, the possibility to use hardware implementations in early design stages speeds up the development process.

At the Institute of Microelectronic Systems a method of connecting an FPGA development board with the ADTF software framework was implemented and demonstrated using an exemplary algorithm. This method allows implementing high demanding parts of algorithms in hardware that can be controlled by the ADTF software environment. The use of hardware blocks in the algorithm speeds up the processing and therefore supports the development of complex algorithms.
